Social Change in Action is a student led initiative to encourage purposeful career paths through the lens of social change by exploring how young professionals are impacting the world and by learning how to write to change our own lives. Through group discussions of our own experiences and those of inspirational leaders, partnering with the writing center, and community outreach, we are working towards turning our passions and desires for social change into tangible results
that make a lasting impact.
After having taken the Students Call for Social Change class, we have seen that our experiences and desires to make a difference in our own lives and our communities can be voiced through discussion and writing. While publishing our narratives in the book Generation Now: Our Stories...Can You Hear Us? was the first step, we believe that there is much more to be done. Our mission is to expand and share the knowledge we gained through class, advance our exploration and pursue careers and futures that will bring our ideas and passions into fruition.
The initiative is being led by Grace and Hana, Class of '22
